Quinn's review "I've been relying on dry herb vaping as my primary consumption method for about a year now, after a lifetime of joints and bongs being my go-to’s. I wanted to give this new Cheech & Chong unit a try to see how it compares to my trusty Brink. They're pretty similar in battery life and heating range, both lasting around 6 sessions on a full battery, running at top heat (more if you're running them at lower heat.) The Cheech & Chong unit does have a smaller heating bowl, holding about 0.3 grams of busted bud, compared with 0.5g in the Brink. It has a cool little loadable pod that sits inside the oven chamber, which you can choose to use or not, but I like the idea of primarily needing to keep that little pod cleaned. It also adds another layer of filtration. The mouthpiece and loading style actually reminded me a lot of the PAX dry herb vapes, with the chamber down at the bottom and a long air tube running through the unit to the mouthpiece. That tube will inevitably get clogged with resin, but it comes with a long cleaning brush that easily takes care of that, especially with a bit of rubbing alcohol. If you're like me and don't tend to clean your smokeware as often as you should, I could see running into some issues once a good clog is settled in there, but giving a good blow through the mouthpiece after a session while the unit is still warm takes care of that build-up before it starts. The power button is 3-clicks on and off, it heats up in 15 seconds, and the session time is 3 minutes (the Brink's is 4:20 - cute.) The temperature range is 410-446°F and it comes with extra screens, a replacement filter, a spiral brush and a scraper tool, plus a USB-C cable, some alcohol swabs, and Q-tips. You can see how charged its battery is based on the colour of the light behind the power button, which is cool. I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to change the temperature setting, but I finally realized it's actually breath-activated so as you inhale, you're bringing that heat up from the lowest preheated temperature to the highest temperature. I'm actually really intrigued by what that means for someone like me who always blasts my dry herb on the highest heat setting. With this style of heating, my cannabis isn't sitting at high heat, degrading the flavour and cannabinoids between inhales, instead only coming up to that temperature as I inhale. Just intuitively, that seems like a good idea!"
